I studied piano for over a decade but watching Chick here what differs most from my capabilities is not so much his fluid technique i am relatively decent with that, but it is his memory. As he learns a piece he easily writes what he learned like a pen on a white sheet of paper and it stays there for good ready to be played again perfectly. Somehow i have no been able to organize my mind to do that, memorizing is a long slow difficult process for me. It probably has something to do with lacking vizualizing my own body articulation and sensing fingers touch memory while playing. When i try to memorize i always feel like a blind man trying to cross a busy street or densely maze like market. I wished i knew how to relearn that and get that skill.

Technical question for any sound engineers out there: What in the mixing of this particular album causes it to sound so heavy and dragging? These are good songs but something about the mix makes it so hard to listen to.

A lot of Bachs compositions were on organ. Which has different fingering then piano, and also had very tricky fingering on his 2 and 3 part fugues.

It's funny to see the new kids discovering Chick Corea, a guy that I fortunately discovered in the late 60s. Yes, he was always awesome, and my main influence. 😅😅😅

He was so humble, that he was never shy to show his mistakes, nor how he played classical music, even being criticized by some classical musicians. He loved music so much. And we love him. 🎉❤
